Every third Tuesday, Renowned joins the Ma'ama Jam open mic at King Bee: musicians and poets play three-song sets while everyone else speed-draws them. Art supplies are provided, instruments are there to borrow, and imperfection is encouraged, on the page and on the stage.
The Ma'ama Jam itself runs every Tuesday (and did a South Austin run at Lustre Pearl South in May 2025); Renowned brings the drawing on third Tuesdays. It started as live drawing at Casey Shaw's open mic at Cabana Club in 2024, moved to the Dark Horse Unplugged open mic that winter, and found its home at King Bee in June 2025.
